Ethical responsibility and good practices of the reviewers

The reviewers are professionals and / or academics with specialized knowledge in various areas of business administration, privileging their diversity in terms of origin and institutional affiliation. The evaluation peers are assigned according to the criteria of the editorial team, waiting to act according to the suitability of the subject discussed in the manuscript with their area of knowledge. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the reviewer may request reallocation of his work before works that do not fit his area of expertise, or any conflict of interest. In the same way, if the time factor is a limitation to conduct the peer review, and in a timely manner, the evaluators must inform the editor, rejecting the extended invitation to participate as a referee. In response to citation rules, the reviewers will warn about omission of relevant sources, or the existence of total or partial plagiarism. Estudios de Administración - Business Administration Studies is committed to constructive criticism, so it is expected that the criticisms made will help to improve the quality of the article, being done in a neutral way and articulated based on reasonable arguments. The recommendations must be presented in the journal's evaluation format, accepting, accepting with improvements, or rejecting the scientific article presented. Any work subject to review is considered confidential, so reviewers may not submit it to third parties, either in whole or in part.

Process in the recognition of unethical conduct

In the presence of unethical conduct, the journal editor must be reported, offering enough information and evidence to start the corresponding investigation process. Any complaint received will be considered with all seriousness and treated indistinctly, until the situation is clarified. For this, the editor chooses the form that considers pertinent to carry out the investigation, and may request the advice of the editorial committee, the peer reviewer, or an academic commission delegated to the situation. In case of disqualification, the authors will be formally notified of the improper application of unethical behavior, explaining in detail the existing evidence of the activity. Estudios de Administración will publish an editorial comment detailing the inappropriate behavior and will proceed to withdraw or eliminate the works under investigation.

Estudios de Administración disapprove any form of plagiarism, in whole or in part of any manuscript. Plagiarism refers to deliberately copying of others work without appropriate acknowledgement or references to the original work. This includes duplicate previous author’s publications. In order to verify originality of submitted manuscripts, Estudios de Administración uses "plagiarism checking software" as a preliminary step of the editorial revision process.

When plagiarism is detected, the editorial team will alert the authors for content revision and request rewriting or properly cite the original work where such content is coming from. The manuscript will be rejected if the percentage of plagiarism occurred is more than 30%. However, the manuscript can be submitted at any time to Estudios de Administración, once the errors have been corrected by citations, references or own interpretations of the authors, which terminate the problem of plagiarism in the document.

Estudios de Administración encourage authors to use plagiarism checking software previous full submission.
